Bahá’í World Centre: Leaving after many years of service in Holy Land
BAHÁ’Í WORLD CENTRE — Two members of the Universal House of Justice are leaving after many years of service at the Bahá’í World Centre.
Mr. Stephen Birkland, 71, and Mr. Stephen Hall, 69, who have served on the international governing body of the Bahá’í Faith for 13 years, requested permission to resign their office last year.
The House of Justice accepted their request and in November 2022 announced that Mr. Birkland and Mr. Hall would be leaving after the 13th International Bahá’í Convention taking place later this month.
The Convention will be held from 29 April to 2 May 2023 in Haifa, with an expected attendance of some 1,400 delegates from around the world.
Mr. Birkland is from the United States and Mr. Hall is from Australia. Both members were first elected to the Universal House of Justice in 2010.
