XIII Convención Internacional: Delegados de todo el mundo bahá’í llegan a Tierra Santa

CENTRO MUNDIAL BAHÁ’Í — Unos 1400 delegados de más de 170 países han llegado a Haifa para participar en la Convención Internacional Bahá’í, un encuentro único que tiene lugar cada cinco años en el centro administrativo y espiritual de la comunidad mundial bahá’í.

Durante la Convención Internacional, estos delegados, que representan una muestra de la humanidad, participarán en sesiones consultivas y elegirán al órgano rector internacional de la Fe bahá’í, la Casa Universal de Justicia.

Las consultas tratarán sobre cómo la comunidad bahá’í mundial puede intensificar su labor para promover el movimiento de la humanidad hacia la paz. Estas actividades consisten en programas educativos que fomentan la capacidad de desarrollo comunitario, así como la acción social y la participación en los diálogos de la sociedad.

Los delegados que asisten a la Convención Internacional son miembros de los consejos de gobierno nacionales bahá’ís de sus países, que se eligen anualmente. Estas instituciones, denominadas Asambleas Espirituales Nacionales, estimulan, guían y apoyan las actividades de la comunidad bahá’í dentro de sus respectivas jurisdicciones.

La Convención se celebra del 29 de abril al 2 de mayo. El día de la inauguración, los delegados se reunirán para elegir a los nueve miembros de la Casa Universal de Justicia para un mandato de cinco años.
