Sasan Taqva – pictured in May 2009, 18 months into his four-year imprisonment in a Ministry of Intelligence detention center in Shiraz. Born in 1974, Mr. Taqva was trained as an optometrist and had his own business. However, to suppress dealings with Baha'is, the Ministry of Trade ordered other shopkeepers not to purchase anything from Baha'is. Before his arrest, he was a member of the national Baha'i Youth Committee.
