Hasan Muvaqqar Balyuzi (1908-1980) was descended from a brother-in-law of The Bab, the forerunner to Baha'u'llah. Balyuzi was an outstanding linguist, historian, author and broadcaster. He was named a 'Hand of the Cause of God' by Shoghi Effendi in October 1957.
