The book, "Abbas Effendi", includes an account of 'Abdu'l-Baha's visit in January 1913 to the small, market-town of Woking in the south of England where the first purpose-built mosque in Europe outside of Moorish Spain had been built. 'Abdu'l-Baha addressed a gathering of Egyptian, Turkish, Indian and British friends in the mosque's courtyard. "The religion of God..." He told them, "encourages the people to uphold the principle of peace. The great underlying truth of the religion of God is love."
