A group photograph at the inauguration ceremony of the Baha'i House of Worship in Kampala, January 1961. Shoghi Effendi, the Guardian of the Baha'i Faith, played a major role in the design of the temple and painstakingly guided the preparation of the original drawings of the building. He specified that the temple should have nine sides, a proportionate dome and seating capacity for 300 to 500 people.
